Recap: Vancouver FC vs. Portland

Vancouver, BC ( - The Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps split the points in a thrilling 2-2 draw at BC Place on Sunday.

Darlington Nagbe and Will Johnson combined to produce both of Portland's goals while Vancouver answered through a spectacular brace from Camilo Sanvezzo.

The draw sees Portland (12-5-14) remain in third place in the Western Conference on 50 points while Vancouver (11-11-9) stays outside the playoff picture with 42 points.

It looked as though the two sides would into halftime scoreless, but Nagbe struck in the 41st minute with a rifle from distance that ended up inside David Ousted's right post.

Portland held the narrow margin until the 76th minute when the contest exploded with three goals coming in the span of two minutes.

Camilo equalized for Vancouver from a set piece that took a deflection off of Rodney Wallace on its way past Donovan Ricketts.

The Timbers responded immediately as Nagbe laid the ball off for Johnson to slam home a one-time effort from the top of the box.

But the 'Caps responded with haste as Young-Pyo Lee's quick cross was fired home by Camilo's sensational side-volley in the 78th minute.

Vancouver, desperate to move into the postseason discussion, pushed in search of a winner but was denied by a string of fine saves from Ricketts.
