SALIDA, Colo. — The crew filming "Fast & Furious 7" is bringing welcome cash to the small Colorado town of Salida.

As many as 300 crew members are filling up motels, restaurants and bars in the offseason between summer travel and winter skiing.

The Denver Post reported Friday (http://tinyurl.com/mvq3mgx) the production will be in Salida for about three weeks. Previously the crew spent time in the Colorado Springs area while shooting on Pikes Peak.

The production team has rented the base area at the Monarch ski area near Salida. U.S. 50 occasionally closes for filming of exploding RVs and souped-up muscle cars roaring up and down Monarch Pass.

The producers have estimated they would spend about $13 million in Colorado. The state gave the company incentives worth about $700,000.
