BCBS monopoly
U.S. Rep. Walter Jones had the audacity to send me an email wanting to know whether my health care premiums were going up as a result of Obamacare. His cronies, the governor and the legislature of this state decided not to use $78 million of federal aid and set up a state exchange, opening this state up to competitive pricing for health care insurance.
In essence what the governor did was to create a monopoly, where Blue Cross can in the absence of any competition charge whatever it wants for premiums. As a result, BCBS increased premiums. Now Jones wants to use this result to justify his part in the shutdown of the federal government in this nation. Only in North Carolina.
