NC Zoo schedules events with Halloween theme

Published: October 12, 2013

— Red wolves will be the featured attraction as the North Carolina Zoo launches a series of special events in October.

The first event is scheduled for Saturday and is entitled "Howl-O-Ween." It celebrates the zoo's red wolves as well as the effort to save the endangered species.

Red wolf keepers will be meeting visitors and answering questions about the wolves at the Red Wolf Exhibit in the zoo's North America exhibit region. In addition, demonstrations of Native American dancing, storytelling and art will be held in the park's Junction Plaza.

Other events will include face painting for kids in the North America Plaza.

Later in October, events will include a special program on bats, the Sonora Desert exhibit and the park's annual Halloween carnival for kids.
