Durham police investigate shooting death

— Homicide police are investigating the death of a 47-year-old Durham man who was shot while he was walking home early Friday night.

Lorenzo Puebla Hernandez of Danube Lane in northern Durham died in the hospital Saturday morning, according to Durham police.

Police responded to a call of a shooting in the 4800 block of Danube Lane shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday and found that Hernandez had been shot. Hernandez was then taken to the hospital.

No charges have been filed.

Durham police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call investigator M. Evans at 919-560-4440, ext. 29336, or CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200. Callers to Crimestoppers, who don’t have to identify themselves, can receive cash awards for information leading to arrests in felony cases.
