St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Cardinals will start Lance Lynn in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny made the announcement Saturday.

Lynn was the winner in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series on Friday, throwing two shutout innings in the Cardinals' 3-2, 13-inning victory.

"We just had to kind of watch and see how things progressed," Matheny said about using Lynn on Friday. "The intent was to try to get Lance a couple innings. It would be similar to what his side day would be, and then we'd have Shelby (Miller) ready to go as long as we needed him to go. Shelby did (warm up), but still should be available to pitch again (Saturday). But Lance will be our Game 4 starter."

Lynn also started Game 2 of the Division Series against Pittsburgh and took the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.
