Drake beats Davidson 27-6

— Gary Scott rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns to cement a 27-6 win over Davidson in a Pioneer Football League matchup Saturday.

Drake (3-3, 2-1) secured its first road win of the season by piling up 480 total yards of offense while holding Davidson (0-6, 0-3) to just 70 yards rushing. Andy Rice passed for 278 yards and two touchdowns, including a 3-yarder to Kevin Marshall in the first quarter and a 35-yarder to Nick Rosa in the second quarter. The Bulldogs missed two extra-point kicks but completed a 2-point conversion after their final touchdown.

The Wildcats only score came in the second quarter when William Morris caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Jonathan Carkhuff, who was 25 of 30 for 233 yards. The extra point was blocked.
