Three Scouts earn Eagle rank

October 13, 2013

Holly Springs High School students Ryan Wing, Justin Woffinden and Porter Savoldi recently received their Eagle ranks, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting.

For his Eagle project, Ryan built a pantry at the Women’s Center of Wake County and held a food drive to fill the pantry shelves.

Justin’s project also benefited the Women’s Center; he build benches to allow the center’s clients to safely wait for transportation.

Porter made a promotional video for the Holly Springs Food Cupboard explaining the organization’s mission and encouraging others to work to assist with its efforts. (You can view his video at hsfoodcupboard.org.)

The boys were sophomores last school year and members of Troop 431. Tar Heel Detachment 733 of the Marine Corps League presented each of them a Good Citizen Award during their Eagle Scout ceremony.
