Christmas decorations have been available in stores for weeks, so I suppose it's not too early for Halloween programming to commence. Here's what caught my eye in this week's television lineup:

Sunday: "The Walking Dead," 8 p.m., AMC: Rick and the gang are back with the remaining Woodbury folks in tow as Season 4 of the zombie saga begins.

"Talking Dead," 9 p.m., AMC: Panelists discuss the season premiere of "The Walking Dead." Coming soon, probably: "Talking 'Talking Dead.'"

"Halloween Craziest," 9 p.m., Travel: Did you know they have an annual pumpkin drop in British Columbia? Somewhere, Herb Tarlek is thinking up a terrible radio promotion.

"Comic Book Men," 11 p.m., AMC: Season 3 kicks off with guest Lou Ferrigno ("The Incredible Hulk").

Monday: "Genealogy Roadshow," 8 p.m., PBS: NFL Hall of Famer Earl Campbell traces his family's history of home ownership in Austin.

"Hostages," 9 p.m., CBS: Ellen and Brian attempt to escape with their kids. They're successful, and the series ends early. Just kidding!

Tuesday: "The Biggest Loser," 7 p.m., NBC: Season 15 (crystal in wedding anniversaries; Crystal Light in weight-loss reality shows?) begins.

"Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle," 7 p.m., PBS: This three-hour special takes a look at the mythical saviors from the Great Depression through modern days.

"New Girl," 8 p.m., Fox: Jon Lovitz guest stars as a rabbi. Oy, that's the ticket!

Wednesday: "Toy Story of Terror!" 7 p.m., ABC: Those mischievous Pixar toys go on a gently scary road trip in this new Halloween special.

"Nature," 7 p.m., PBS: Members of the Sea Otter Research and Conservation program go to extreme (and humorous) lengths to prevent the orphaned critters from bonding with them in tonight's season premiere, "Saving Otter 501."

"Burton and Taylor," 8 p.m., BBC America: Dominic West and Helena Bonham Carter portray the famous Hollywood couple during their 1983 onstage reunion.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 9 p.m., CBS: Reality cooking show competitors accidentally eat human flesh during a taping and the team must discover who's got skin in the game. (Hey, relax. I could have gone with the "finger food" joke.)

Thursday: "Reign," 8 p.m., CW: Think "The Tudors" via "90210" and you'll have a pretty good idea of what to expect from this new, angst-ridden drama.

"White Collar," 8 p.m., USA: Season 5 begins.

"Covert Affairs," 9 p.m., USA: The spy drama returns for six more episodes to close out the season.

Friday: "Great Performances," 8 p.m., PBS: Julie Andrews, Josh Groban, Audra McDonald and others celebrate the program's 40th anniversary from Lincoln Center.

"Comedy Bang! Bang!" 9 p.m., IFC: Rainn Wilson guests on the season premiere.

"The Birthday Boys," 9:30 p.m., IFC: This new sketch comedy series comes from the mind of Bob Odenkirk ("Mr. Show" and "Breaking Bad").

Saturday: "Grave Halloween," 8 p.m., Syfy: "I say, 'Boo!'; you say, 'Yay!'. 'Boo!'; 'Yay!'; 'Boo!'; 'Yay!'"
