HUNTINGTON, Ind. — A northern Indiana teenager who was bullied and teased as he battled dyslexia has created a support group to help other youths struggling with the disorder.
Scott Forsythe formed Dyslexic Kids in 2011 to help youth with dyslexia find access to resources and support.
The Journal Gazette (http://bit.ly/15TCESE ) reports the initiative started online with games to practice reading skills and a blog to talk about experiences. It has expanded to include social media networks, a mentoring and tutoring program and a monthly support group.
The 16-year-old Forsythe also has created a list of books that are good for those with dyslexia as part of an Eagle Scout project.
