Attacks across Iraq kill at least 8

— Police officials say attacks across Iraq have killed at least eight people.

They say the deadliest of Sunday's attacks was in the southern city of Diwaniyah, where back-to-back car bombings near a bus station killed three people and wounded 13.

In the northern city of Samarra, a bomb targeted a gathering of mourners for some of the 17 people who were killed in a car bombing there on Saturday.

Two people died and five were wounded in that attack. And three died and nine were wounded by a mortar round in the town of Madain and a car bombing in the southern town of Mahmoudiyah.

Medical officials confirmed the causalities. Both police and medical officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
