Want to know whether to try the Sloppy Joe doughnut burger and other new deep-fried treats at this year’s N.C. State Fair?

State fair officials are holding the annual media lunch and press conference to highlight what’s new at this year’s fair, which runs Thursday to Oct. 27 at the state fairgrounds in Raleigh.

As part of the event, D&J Concessions will be serving its new treats for the media to sample, including the Sloppy Joe doughnut burger, which is a scoop of seasoned ground beef topped with shredded cheese between a sliced-in-half glazed unfilled jelly doughnut. It costs $7 and will be sold at the 1853 Grille and in the concession stands inside the Education and Gov. Kerr Scott buildings.
