Player of the week: Sean Bowman of South Granville rushed for 403 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 67-49 victory over Franklinton.

Play of the week: Dominique Lynch of Athens Drive: Ran 10 yards for a touchdown on a fourth-and-2 situation with 16 seconds left to lift the Jaguars to a 27-23 win over Apex.

Defense of the week: Orange, No.1 in The N&O rankings this week, held Cedar Ridge to 101 total yards in a 59-7 victory. Cedar Ridge gained 51 yards on 34 rushing attempts.

Special teams player: Middle Creek’s Michael Rubino booted a 31-yard field goal with one second left for a 23-21 victory over Panther Creek. Rubino also kicked field goals of 37 and 27 yards in the win.

This week’s number: 445 Nyheim Hines of Garner returned a kickoff 98 yards as part of his 445 all-purpose yards in a 35-28 win over Clayton. Hines scored five touchdowns, rushed for 207 yards, passed for 45 yards and had 89 yards in receptions.

Marcus Marshall, Millbrook: Ran for 197 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 34-13 win over Broughton.

Daquan Neal, Franklinton: Passed for 191 yards and rushed for 115 yards and accounted for five touchdowns in a 67-57 loss to South Granville.

Patrick Kearney, Broughton: Passed for 366 yards in a 34-13 loss to Millbrook.

Kendall Hinton, Southern Durham: Passed for 201 yards and rushed for 102 yards in a 45-28 vicory over Cardinal Gibbons.

Shawn Stankavage, Cardinal Gibbons: Rushed for 101 yards and passed for 324 yards in a 45-28 loss to Southern Durham.

Bryce Love, Wake Forest: Rushed for 243 yards in a 32-26 loss to Wakefield.

Josh Lowery, Wakefield: Caught two touchdown passes and had 123 yards in receptions in a 32-26 win over Wake Forest. Quarterback Evan Brabrand passed for 227 yards.

Jamie Herakovich, Ravenscroft: Passed for three touchdowns and 214 yards and ran for two touchdowns in a 50-22 win over Wake Christian.

Tray Staten, Holly Springs: Scored three touchdowns and ran for 147 yards in a 48-14 win over Cary.

Malcolm Hitchcock, Leesville Road: Rushed for 173 yards and returned an interception for a touchdown in a 28-17 win over Sanderson.

Richard Landis, North Raleigh Christian: Passed for 342 yards in a 72-35 loss to Harrells Christian. NRCA’s Daniel Rose had 173 yards in receptions.

Beau Barger, Wake Christian: Passed for 209 yards and ran for 135 yards in a 50-22 loss to Ravenscroft.

Luke Massei, Green Hope: Passed for 190 yards in a 14-12 loss to Fuquay-Varina.

Brant Grisel, Middle Creek: Passed for 233 yards in a 23-21 win over Panther Creek.

Ashod Meeks-Ewing, Southeast Raleigh: Rushed for 181 yards in a 31-28 victory over East Wake.

Joel Evans, Riverside: Ran for 148 yards in a 42-10 win over East Chapel Hill.

Trent Evans, East Wake: Passed for 177 yards and rushed for 124 yards in a 31-28 loss to Southeast Raleigh.
