No charges filed in Harnett shooting death of Raleigh man

From staff reportsOctober 15, 2013

— Harnett County sheriff's investigators said Tuesday that they were still looking into the shooting death of a Raleigh man Saturday, but have filed no charges against the man who shot him, his father-in-law.

Christian Lamar Griggs, 23, of 19530 Colbert Creek Loop was shot at a house at 11378 N.C. 210 North, near Angier, deputies said.

They said they found Griggs after two calls to 911, one saying there was a domestic disturbance and threats were being made and then one a few minutes later saying that the caller had shot the other person, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

The house where Griggs was shot is where his father-in-law, Pat Chisenhall, lives, and Chisenhall fired the gun, officials said.

No charges had been filed against Chisenhall as of Tuesday, they said.

Chisenhall is the founder and pastor of the Abundant Life Worship Center in Angier.

Griggs was pronounced dead at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, where EMS medics took him, the sheriff’s office said.
