Girls on the Run fundraiser at Southern Season

The third annual Girls and Guys Night In event to benefit Girls on the Run of the Triangle will be Nov. 10 at Southern Season in Chapel Hill.

There is a VIP dinner at Southern Season’s Weathervane restaurant with guest speaker Jennifer Pharr Davis, an author and long-distance hiker who broke the speed record for hiking the Appalachian Trail. She hiked the trail’s more than 2,100 miles in 46 days, 11 hours and 20 minutes. In 2012, she was named one of National Geographic’s Adventurers of the Year. After the VIP dinner, Southern Season will be followed by a 7 p.m. special shopping event inside the gourmet food and housewares store, including live music, cooking lessons, wine and beer tastings, grilling stations and appetizers.

Girls on the Run is a character development program that helps girls ages 8-12 build self-esteem and confidence through team-building exercises and physical activity. Info: gotrtriangle.org.
