Raleigh sex offender charged with indecent liberties

From staff reportsOctober 18, 2013

— Wake County sheriff's deputies charged a man with taking indecent liberties with a youth Wednesday and with taking care of a 12-year-old boy Wednesday and once last month despite being a convicted sex offender.

They arrested Daniel Flores, 47, at his mobile home in a trailer park at 6109 Buffaloe Road late Wednesday afternoon.

Arrests warrants did not spell out whether the indecent liberties occurred with the boy they said Flores was taking care of, but said they occurred yesterday and that he was taking care of the 12-year-old yesterday.

The other charged stemmed from taking care of the boy on Sept. 27, the warrants said.

Flores was convicted in January 2012 of taking indecent liberties with a child in Rowan County the previous April, state prison records show, and was released from prison in April of this year.

State law makes it a felony for anyone who has to register as a sex offender to take a job or to volunteer for “instruction, supervision, or care” of a minor.

Flores was being held in lieu of $200,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
