Body found in Durham store's vent remains unidentified

— Investigators said Thursday they have been unable to identify the remains of a body found Wednesday morning at the Town and Country convenience store at 3700 Fayetteville St.

Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said officers responded to a call around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and found the remains of a body in a vent on the roof.

The case remains under investigation, with officers working to determine how long the body had been in the roof before discovery. The store has been closed for several months. From
