Larry Voorhees: Hiring from within saves tax dollars

October 18, 2013

I note lately the minority opposition is hopping our governor’s rear for appointing some of his supporters and donors into excellent paying positions, people whose talents he has become well acquainted with. They are individuals who hold the same desires and ambitions for the future of North Carolina’s residents as he does.

If any person was elected governor, would he/she expend the man hours and funds necessary to vet and interview individuals who hold the same visions, capabilities and talents they hold when they’ve already found them? The governor’s approach is the reverse. He has saved taxpayer dollars utilizing what he already had on hand. Think back, curtailing waste of our tax dollars was part of his political platform in the first place.
