Mrs. Whitley Timberlake Brown

Ann Brooks Skinner and Whitley Timberlake Brown, both of Raleigh were married on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at half past five in the afternoon at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Wilson. The Rev. Marty Stebbins officiated. Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at their home.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Atwood Skinner III of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Richard Thorp Smith, Jr. and the late Mr. Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. B. Atwood Skinner, Jr. of Wilson. She is a graduate of Greenfield School and a summa cum laude graduate of North Carolina State University where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She was presented by the Terpsichorean Club at the 2008 North Carolina Debutante Ball.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Selby Brown III of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Hill Timberlake, Jr. of Lexington and Mrs. Betty Whitley Brown and the late Mr. Milton Selby Brown, Jr. of Washington. He is a graduate of Ravenscroft School and East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management and Business Administration. He is a broker with NAI Carolantic Realty.

The bride was escorted by her father. Sarah Elizabeth Skinner, sister of the bride, of Raleigh, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Anne Craighill Brown, sister of the groom, Louise Anderson Hackney, Elizabeth Paxton Peters all of Raleigh, Mary Katherine Fey of Charlotte, Anna Wooten Gauss of Atlanta, GA, Kenan Blair Hill of New York, NY and Ashley Rose Wainer of Washington, DC.

Milton Selby Brown III, father of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Tyler Patrick Bolton of Greenville, Michael Alan Dickson, Christopher Lee Eisenzimmer, Alexander Scott Peebles all of Raleigh, Braxton Bragg Dawson Rascoe, Jr. and Hunter Aaron Spivey Rascoe both of Wilson, Wayland James Sermons III of Denver, CO and Maxwell Jeffreys Weaver of Atlantic Beach. Ushers were Ian Stafford Ballantyne of Wrightsville Beach, Michael Laughton Jones, Jr. and Daniel Staten Waters of Charlotte, John Hunter Davis Leggett of Wilson, Vann Keith Pair, Jr. of Raleigh and William Wayne Reynolds, Jr. of Topsail Beach.

Crucifer was John Hunter Bratton of Raleigh. Scripture readers were James Marvin Barnes, Jr., cousin of the bride, of Raleigh and Anne Craighill Brown. Sarah Carr Barnes and Elizabeth Darden Smith, cousins of the bride, were program attendants.

Following a honeymoon to the British Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
