Hayley Sikes Burrus and Richard Edward Rogers were united in marriage on October 19th, 2013 at 5:00 at Christ United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Gary Kelton Joyner of Raleigh and Mr. Russell Alan Burrus of Charlotte. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Henry Burrus of Shelby and the late Mrs. Donna Cunningham Goff of Charlotte.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Alexander Rogers, Jr. of Raleigh and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Alexander Rogers, Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Orie Charles Honig of Houston and Raleigh.
The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was Hayley's sister, Megan Burrus Masters of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Bridesmaids included Mary Lauren Bagwell of Atlanta, Laurel Brown of Charlotte, Meredith Burrus of La Jolla, CA., Kelley Mann of Raleigh, Christy Rogers of Raleigh, Louise Rogers Sumner of Rye, N.Y., and Lauren Wingard of Raleigh.
The best man was Ted's brothers, Alex Rogers of Raleigh. Groomsmen were Todd Glidewell of Raleigh, Andrew McAllister of Charleston, S.C., Robbie Lewis of Raleigh, Will Stevenson of Golden, CO., and Brian Sumner of Rye, N.Y.
Usher was Rob Masters of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Rachel Joyner and Laura Joyner served as greeters.
The bride is a graduate of Needham Broughton High School and North Carolina State University, where she earned BS degrees in Accounting and Business Administration: Finance. Currently she is employed with Grant Thornton as a tax associate in private wealth services. She was presented at the 2008 Terpsichorean Debutante Ball. The groom is a graduate of Needham Broughton High School and University of Virginia, where he earned a BA degree in English and then a Masters of Accounting degree from North Carolina State University. He is currently employed with Clifton Larson Allen as a senior auditor.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Fearrington Barn. On Friday night the groom's parents hosted a Rehearsal dinner at The Oakleaf in Pittsboro, N.C.
Following a honeymoon to South Africa and Victoria Falls, the couple will reside in Charlotte.
