The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Jayne Carter Burton and Mr. Johnny Banks Kerr of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius George Carter of Garner and Mrs. Dorothy Renfrow Kerr and the late Mr. Banks Dayton Kerr of Raleigh.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Arnold Peterson of Piedmont, California. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John William Erichson of Asheville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl William Peterson of St. Louis, Missouri.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The maid of honor was Ms. Jennifer Dorothy Kerr, twin sister of the bride, of New York, New York. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Kathryn Calder Barmore of Charlotte, Mrs. Sarah Yarborough Bulluck of Boone, Ms. Ashley Vermillion Harris of Raleigh, Mrs. Sally O’Herron Hogan of New York, New York, Mrs. Robin Lowe Lipe of Charlotte, Ms. Elizabeth Stewart Mercer of Charlotte, Mrs. Jaclyn White Morgan of Greenville, Mrs. Dolly Smith Myrick of Raleigh, Ms. Sally Morgan Peterson of New York, New York and Mrs. Katherine Rose Williams of Raleigh. The groom is a graduate of Piedmont High School in Piedmont, California and attended the University of Oregon where he studied Business Administration. He is employed by Red Brick Properties in Brooklyn, New York.
A Reception given by the bride’s parents followed the ceremony at The Umstead. The parents of the groom hosted a Rehearsal Dinner at Flanders Art Gallery followed by dance at Cobblestone Hall. After a honeymoon trip to Dubai, the Maldives and Paris, the couple will reside in New York, New York.
