Jeff Albright: California credit

October 25, 2013

Regarding the Oct. 23 Froma Harrop column “Extreme Political Makeover: California edition”: California’s resent rise from the depth of depression and a failed economy to a robust economy can be credited to the voting booth. The people voted out the party of no – that would be the Republicans. Then there was a simple revision of the tax laws that mandated the rich had to pay their fair share of tax. And they raised the minimum pay a little more for the workers who needed it the most.

Republicans will never understand that when the middle class and the poor earn a decent living, the rich also earn more. I believe it’s an ego thing. If the rich know the poor are hungry, the steak they are eating just tastes better.
