High-schoolers help in Senate

October 27, 2013

Charles Tyson Van de Zande of Raleigh, who goes by Ty, and Tarek M. Zikry of Chapel Hill recently served as pages in the N.C. Senate.

Pages serve for one week, attending Senate sessions and committee meetings and assisting staff members with clerical duties.

Ty, a student at Cary Academy, is the son of Charles and Linda Van de Zande and was sponsored by Sen. Daniel Blue. Tarek, a student at Carrboro High School, is the son of Mohammed Zikry and Mona Razik and was sponsored by then-Sen. Ellie Kinnaird.
