Police name 2 who died in wrong-way I-440 crash

— Police have identified two drivers who were killed when their vehicles collided on Interstate-440 Sunday morning.

Just before 4 a.m., according to Raleigh police, David Viva Xicotencatl, 25, was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 440, by himself in a 2001 Chevrolet sedan.

Elizabeth Camille Bullock, 20, also a solo driver, drove a 1997 Mazda sedan east in the eastbound lanes of the loop.

The two cars collided “in a near head-on manner” just east of Six Forks Road, police said.

Bullock was pronounced dead at the scene, and Xicotencatl was transported to Wake Medical Center, where he died

A section of the road was closed and re-opened later in the morning.
