Player of the week: Marquavious Johnson of Knightdale rushed for 334 yards, breaking loose on a 56-yard touchdown run that cemented a 48-45 win against Garner.

Play of the week: Malcolm Hitchcock of Leesville Road intercepted a two-point conversion pass with 67 seconds left to preserve a 21-19 victory against Wake Forest.

Defender of the week: Thomas Hartshorn of Middle Creek recovered four fumbles, returning one for a touchdown, in a 56-21 win against Athens Drive.

Special teams player: Philip Stone of Panther Creek kicked field goals of 39, 39 and 28 yards in a 51-14 win against Apex.

This week’s number: 520 – Yards gained on the ground by Knightdale in a 48-45 victory against Garner.

Shawn Stankavage, Cardinal Gibbons: Ran for 198 yards and passed for 214 yards in a 47-36 win against Chapel Hill. Dante DiMaggio had seven catches for 160 yards.

Jerry Pullum, Lee County: Rushed for 316 yards in a 41-26 victory against Fayetteville Sanford.

Jacob Hunter, Rocky Mount Academy: Caught touchdown passes of 15 and 35 yards, returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown, returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown and scooped a fumble and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown in a 52-6 eight-man football win against Cary Christian.

Blake Joyner, Clayton: Intercepted two passes in the Comets’ 35-26 win against East Wake.

Joel Evans, Riverside: Rushed for 309 yards and scored on runs of 47, 29 and 58 yards in a 49-13 win against Jordan.

Colby Owens, East Chapel Hill: Ran for 160 yards and scored five touchdowns in a 42-35 win at Roxboro Person.

Luke Massei, Green Hope: Completed 28 of 44 passes for 386 yards in a 37-31 overtime loss to Holly Springs.

Raoul Oquendo, Millbrook: Intercepted a pass in the end zone in the final minute to help preserve a 21-16 victory against Heritage. Quarterback Reid Herring passed for 199 yards in the win.

Patrick Kearney, Broughton: Completed 35 of 56 passes for 360 yards in a 55-35 loss to Wakefield. Dominic Ford had 156 yards in receptions.

Beau Barger, Wake Christian: Scored three touchdowns, rushed for 131 yards and passed for 83 yards in a 24-10 win against North Raleigh Christian.

Kelton Whitehead, Wakefield: Rushed for 199 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 55-35 win against Broughton. Evan Brabrand passed for 254 yards.

Trent Evans, East Wake: Passed for 213 yards and rushed for 99 in a 35-26 loss to Clayton.

Brighton Hudson, Garner: Threw for a career-high 244 yards in a 48-45 loss to Knightdale. Nyheim Hines rushed for 213 yards and scored two touchdowns rushing and two receiving.

Cole Sakowski, Corinth Holders: Completed 26 of 36 passes for 310 yards and five touchdowns.

Blake Walters, Heritage: Passed for 241 yards in a 21-16 loss to Millbrook.

Bryce Love, Wake Forest: Rushed for 166 yards in a 21-19 loss to Leesville Road.

Tyrick Bullock, Northern Vance: Ran for 245 yards in a 51-17 loss to Pittsboro Northwood.

Dorrel McClain, Panther Creek: Rushed for 217 yards in a 51-14 win against Apex.

Jamie Herakovich, Ravenscroft: Passed for 278 yards in a 50-28 loss to Charlotte Christian.

Sean Bowman, South Granville: Rushed for 175 yards in a 28-21 win against Bunn.
