This week's football schedule: Leesville faces Millbrook in big Cap 8 game

Leesville Road, which claimed a huge 21-19 Cap Eight victory over Wake Forest, has another important league game on Friday when it is at home against Millbrook.

Leesville (7-2) and Millbrook (7-2) share the Cap Eight 4A lead with Wakefield (8-1), which is at home against Heritage.

Millbrook’s only losses were 14-7 to No. 1 Knightdale and 31-26 to Wake Forest. Leesville dropped a couple of games while adjusting to the loss of standout runner Braxton Berrios, but has been dynamic since.

Wakefield (8-1) lost to Millbrook 40-19 two weeks ago.

The other big game of the week has Cardinal Gibbons (7-2) traveling to Orange (9-0) for a Big Eight 3A game. Orange has been overpowering, outscoring its opponents 218 to 35.
