State billboards lobbyist to start his own firm

Tony Adams, executive director and lead lobbyist for the state's billboards trade group, said Monday he is leaving the N.C. Outdoor Advertising Association after 14 years to start his own firm.

Adams fought losing battles for years to get looser billboard regulations. He had more success recently with the Republican-controlled legislature.
