Charles & Colvard signs distribution agreement with Kohl’s

Charles & Colvard announced Tuesday that it has entered a distribution agreement with Kohl’s to supply the retailer’s online jewelry store with its Forever Brilliant moissanite gemstones.

Kohl’s online customers have been able to purchase the stones since mid-October.

Morrisville-based Charles & Colvard began selling Forever Brilliant stones last year. The product is a whiter gemstone than the company’s other moissanite gemstones. The company says the Forever Brilliant gemstone is enhanced by up to four color shades.

Moissanite is made from silicon carbide. Charles & Colvard has an exclusive agreement with Durham-based Cree to provide it with silicon carbide.

Charles & Colvard shares closed Tuesday at $6.51, down 2 cents. The stock is up 66 percent this year.
