NCSU student reports robbery attempt near Carmichael Gym

From staff reportsOctober 30, 2013

— A North Carolina State University student reported that he was accosted by three men after he left Carmichael Gym late Tuesday, and they tried to steal a bag he was carrying, campus police said Tuesday.

The student went with a man who asked him for help as the student left the gym on Cates Avenue about 11 p.m. and led him between Owen and Turlington halls, he told officers.

Two other men then came up, and the three took the student’s bag away from him after demanding he turn it over to them, police said they were told.

The student told officers his attackers were three black men, one light-skinned, 6-foot-1, 26-30 years old, wearing a navy hoodie and blue jeans; a second who was wearing a black hoodie and khaki pants, and a third for whom there was no physical or clothing information.

Campus police asked that anyone with information about the incident call them at 919-515-3000.
