Mrs. J. Shepard Harris

Lauren Elizabeth Rhodes and James Shepard Harris were united in marriage on October 5, 2013 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Raleigh, with Pastor Michael Tolar officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Rhodes of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Rhodes of Raleigh, the late Mrs. Gwyn Rhodes, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Austin. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Harris of New Bern. He is the grandson of Mrs. Jasper Wiggins Hassell of Edenton, the late Mr. Jasper Wiggins Hassell, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Harris.

Attending the bride as Maid of Honor was Ms. Lindsay Skinner of Boiling Springs. Bridesmaids were Ms. Alyson Stanley of Raleigh, Ms. Hannah Wilson of Rocky Mount, Ms. Erin Summerlin of Spivey’s Corner, Ms. Audrey Pharr of Concord, and Ms. Meghan Shelton of Pilot Mountain.

The groom’s father, Tyler Harris, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Brandon Rhodes of Raleigh, brother of the bride, Mr. Richard Stout of New Bern, Mr. Jordan Godwin of Meadow, Mr. Andrew Sherman of Frederick, MD and Mr. Charles Freeman, III of Winston-Salem. Mr. Carlton Price of Lumberton and Mr. Tanner Briele of New Bern, served as ushers.

On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted at the historic Wagoner House in Clayton, hosted by the Groom's parents. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Hinnant Vineyards in Pine Level. After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Trent Woods.
