Baguettaboutit Cafe opens today in Durham

Posted by Greg Cox on November 4, 2013

With today’s opening of Baguettaboutit Cafe in a strip mall near RTP, the Triangle can chalk up another mobile vendor whose success has led to the opening of a brick-and-mortar location.

Like the Baguettaboutit food truck, the restaurant specializes in European-inspired sandwiches featuring sausages made by Giacamo’s in Greensboro, served on imported French baguettes. Spreads and sauces are made in house, using local ingredients as much as possible.

Sandwiches, whose whimsical names incorporate the restaurant’s U-shaped baguette logo, range from U Talking To Me? (hot Italian sausage, basil-tomato vinaigrette) to U Betcha (bratwurst, beer mustard) to It’s Greek TU Me (chicken-spinach sausage, tzatziki). Good Golly Miss SUsan (homemade pimento cheese, roasted peppers) caters to vegetarian appetites.

The cafe menu also offers a few items not available from the food truck, among them coleslaw, salads (side and entree), and cookies.

Baguettaboutit Cafe (2945-122 S. Miami Blvd.; 919-973-1229; baguettaboutit.com) is open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 2.p.m. Check the Twitter feed ( @baguettaboutit) for the current food truck location.
