From staff reportsNovember 5, 2013

— Wake County sheriff's deputies Tuesday afternoon stopped a car on U.S. 264 in Knightdale and charged a Duplin County man with having 81 pounds of liquid methamphetamine in plastic bottles.

Russel Sthanley Lagos-Carmona, 20, of 441 Out Law Bridge Road in Albertson in Duplin County, was arrested shortly before 5 p.m. after deputies pulled him over on eastbound U.S. 264, according to an arrest report.

They also arrested Brayan Sanchez, 33, of 3799 N N.C. 903 in Albertson.

Arrest warrants charged Lagos-Carmona with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine say the drug was in plastic bottles in a vehicle.

The warrants charge Lagos-Carmona with maintaining a vehicle for keeping and selling drugs, but do not specify what it was.

Lagos-Carmona also was charged with conspiracy.

The Knightdale arrest came less than a month after drug investigators charged three people with having 51 pounds of methamphetamine in a car that deputies stopped on Interstate 40 in Cary.

Moises Orduno, 34, of Houston, Sandra Danissa Hernandez, 22, of Norcross, Ga., and Amall Judeth Murillo, 21, of Gwinnett, Ga., were charged Oct. 11 with trafficking in methamphetamine and conspiracy to traffic in it.

In that case, deputies said they had stopped the car for speeding.

Deputies have not said why they stopped Lagos-Carmona’s vehicle.

Lagos-Carmona was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail at the Wake County Detention Center.
