Dierdre McCormick: Why do other plans work?

Regarding “A tale of two surgeries” by Marc Landry on Oct. 30: Landry did a great job of outlining the similarities and differences in the U.S. and Canadian health care outcomes for knee and hip replacements, but that’s the type of information we hear all the time. Now tell us why it works in Canada and how we can make it work here!

I don’t think it’s American hubris that’s standing in the way. I think it’s a lack of public officials who really know how to fix our system.
