Your Nov. 1 editorial cartoon of a diner having his gruel being substituted with a three-course meal dispensed by President Obama is only a partially true representation of Obamacare.
Yes, many people who decided that a bare bones health insurance policy best suited their needs now are not given that choice and are being forced to move up to products with more features. So, your cartoon does indeed accurately depict the current forced trade up to “a three-course meal’ from a dollar menu item.
However, the cartoon conveniently leaves out what should be a second frame of the diner being presented with the bill for his three-course meal. For the cartoon to be an accurate depiction of Obamacare, the second frame would show a surprised diner expressing sticker shock at the cost of his newly substituted meal.
