From staff reportsNovember 8, 2013

— Police have charged a local man with marijuana and cocaine sales going back to July and with a home burglary last weekend.

Arrest warrants charged that Donnie Lee Richardson, who will turn 21 on Monday, sold 0.5 grams of cocaine on July 30, 0.25 grams on July 31 and 0.85 grams of marijuana on Aug. 15.

They also charged that Richardson, of 3113 Jonesville Road, scammed a tow-truck operator for $175 by saying he owned two abandoned cars and selling them.

On Nov. 2, police said in another warrant, Richardson broke into a home on Marshall Farm Street, stole a cell phone and assaulted a woman.

Raleigh police took Richardson into custody at the Wake Inn on New Bern Avenue at midday Thursday based on information that he was wanted.

Richardson was being held without bail for a court appearance Friday, records showed.
