Overturned truck blocks traffic in downtown Raleigh

November 8, 2013

— An overturned tractor-trailer is blocking eastbound traffic on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near downtown Raleigh.

The 18-wheeler was involved in a three-vehicle wreck around 4:15 p.m. Friday

The crash happened near the boulevard’s interchange with McDowell Street. Emergency services transported two people to the hospital, but neither had life-threatening injuries, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

Police advised motorists to avoid the area if possible until the wreckage could be cleared. A written release gave no estimate for when traffic would be moving freely again.
