Broughton boys, girls champs dominate cross country All-Metro teams

The Broughton boys dominated the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A cross country championships, and they dominate the annual News & Observer All-Metro high school cross country team.

Broughton had runners finish third, seventh, ninth and 10th racing against the state’s top 4A runners to easily claim their third consecutive NCHSAA championship.

The Caps were paced by senior leader Will Roberson, whose 15:21.92 was the fastest championship time in the area.

Green Hope won the NCHSAA 4A girls championships and Mary Grace Doggett (Cardinal Gibbons), Maysa Araba (Carrboro) and Eliza Dekker (Durham Academy) won individual titles in their classifications.
