Science camp picks two from Triangle

November 10, 2013

Two local students were chosen as N.C. delegates to the 2013 National Youth Science Camp last summer in West Virginia.

Dhruv Jain of Cary, a 2013 graduate of Enloe High School in Raleigh, and Colleen McCarthy of Chapel Hill, a graduate of Carrboro High School, joined more than 120 other top science students from around the country and the world for a three-week immersion in science lectures and directed studies with working scientists and professors. They also took part in outdoor adventures like climbing, camping and mountain biking.

The camp is hosted by the National Youth Science Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to encourage youth interest and excellence in science.
