Woman, 18, faces death-by-vehicle charges in Johnston crash that killed couple

— An 18-year-old Johnston County woman faces two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle as well as reckless driving in connection with a Sunday morning accident that killed a couple near Archer Lodge.

State troopers added the death-by-vehicle charges Tuesday against Erica Stone of Smithfield.

Thomas and Carol Dehlinger, both 64, were in a car that collided with the one Stone was driving on Covered Bridge Road about 9:30 a.m. The couple lived on Hunter Lane in Johnston County, east of Clayton.
