Cooking instructor Sharon Morf, who gave me the gravy lesson in today’s food section, regularly teaches cooking classes at her Wake County home.

Her current series of classes tackle this topic: “Slow Food Fast: Healthy, Satisfying and Seasonal Food in 30 Minutes.” Morf offers classes from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. Upcoming class dates include: Nov. 23, Dec. 3, 7, 10 and 17, and Jan. 1, 14, 21, 28.

Morf lives close to Wake Tech Community College’s main campus in southern Wake County.

Each class costs $40. And just in time for the holidays, Morf also is offering $100 gift certificates redeemable for classes.

To sign up for a class, call 919-523-1221 or send an email to chefstable@hotmail.com.
