NC League of Municipalies gets new director

Paul Meyer will become the new executive director of the N.C. League of Municipalities, it was announced Thursday.

Meyer began work as the league's chief counsel in 2009 and in January was appointed director of governmental affairs in January. Before joining the league, Meyer lobbied for the N.C. Association of County Commissioner.

He will succeed Ellis Hankins who is retiring January 31st.

Meyer is a graduate of Wake Forest University and has a law degree from Campbell University. He is just the sixth full-time director in the league's 105 year history.
