Carson, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Galaxy announced Thursday that the club has signed defender Todd Dunivant to a new, multi-year contract.

Dunivant rejoined the Galaxy in 2009 and has been a central figure in the club's resurgence over the past five years, appearing in 138 regular season games and 16 postseason games in that time.

The 32-year-old is a four-time MLS Cup winner, claiming one postseason title with the San Jose Earthquakes (2003) and three with the Galaxy (2005, 2011, 2012). The Wheat Ridge, Colo., native also has enjoyed stints with Red Bull New York and Toronto FC during his 11-year MLS career.

Per club and league policy, details of the contract were not disclosed.

The Galaxy also announced Thursday that the club has signed midfielder Baggio Husidic, who began his professional career with the Chicago Fire in 2009, on a free transfer from Swedish club Hammarby. The 26-year-old signed a multi-year contract that will see him join Los Angeles for the start of the 2014 preseason.
