Cary police charge man with dark-of-night cocaine trafficking

— Police arrested a man on Walnut Street about 3 a.m. Friday and charged him with cocaine trafficking, saying he had delivered the drug to an informant.

Huerta Jose Coss, 32, of 306 York St. in Cary was being held in the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $200,000 bail and for federal immigration authorities after a computer check indicated he may have re-entered the country illegally after being deported.

Coss is originally from Mexico.

According to arrest warrants, Coss delivered between 28 and 200 grams of cocaine to the informant.

Police charged Coss with three counts of trafficking in cocaine and two counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug storage or sale.

One of the latter counts covered his home and the other a GMC Envoy SUV, warrants said.
