Mrs. Eleanor Rousseau Oxholm Lim

Eleanor Rousseau Oxholm and Alexander Jin Phan Lim were married on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at five-thirty in the afternoon at St. David’s School Chapel in Raleigh. The Reverend Robert Whitridge Estill officiated. A reception was held following the ceremony at The Pavilion at the Angus Barn.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Birkbeck Oxholm of Raleigh. Eleanor is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Harry Barnhill of Plymouth and of the late Mr. Carl Oxholm, Jr., and the late Mrs. Eleanor Rousseau Oxholm of Devon, PA.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Lim Hwong Jit of Oxford, England. Alexander is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. John Gordon-Duffy of London, England, and of Mrs. Lim Hoi Heng and the late Mr. Lim Hoi Heng of Penang, Malaysia.

Anna Kiernan Schuermann of Raleigh was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Katherine Summer O’Neal of Los Angeles, CA; Eleanor Wright Cooper, Erin Andrea Erwin, and Rachel Elizabeth Ressner, all of New York, NY; Whitney Kathleen Franz of Baltimore, MD; Alisen Michelle Fluke of Raleigh; Lucia Anne Parker, of Denver, CO.

William James Eldridge of Chapel Hill was the best man. Groomsmen were Jasper Nicholas Lim of Aberdeen, Scotland; Patrick Riddle Oxholm of Louisville, KY; Thomas Birkbeck Oxholm, Jr. of New York, NY; Matthew Christopher Bruer and Travis Daniel Lynk, both of Atlanta, GA; Mitchell Mark Conover of Chapel Hill; and Edwin Charles Scarbrough Dudding of London.

Sarah Hain Oxholm and Catherine Rousseau Oxholm of Wyomissing, PA, were program attendants. James Wilson McWilliams, of Charlotte, and Jiezhen Wu, of Singapore, and Rebekah Gordon-Duffy, of London, England, served as readers.

The bride is a graduate of Needham B. Broughton High School. The groom is a graduate of Winchester College in Winchester, England. Both are graduates of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where they were Morehead-Cain Scholars. Eleanor earned a graduate degree this year from Columbia University while working in refugee resettlement at the International Rescue Committee in New York. Alexander is an Investment Banking Associate at Credit Suisse in San Francisco.

Following their honeymoon in Argentina, the couple will reside in San Francisco.
