Kat Robichaud is working plenty hard on “The Voice”

Kat Robichaud, a freelance graphic designer from Raleigh, has risen through a field of 48 finalists to be among the last 10 singers left in the show, “The Voice.”

Raleigh’s Kat Robichaud has made the final top-10 of NBC’s competitive reality show “The Voice,” which has her on television for a couple of hours each week. But the time onscreen represents just a tiny fraction of how much time and effort is involved.

“The schedule now is insane,” she said in an interview last week. “There’s not even a week in between shows, and we’re learning new songs, practicing vocal lessons and staging, doing interviews. It’s crazy. Yesterday I was in rehearsals and hair-&-makeup from 10 in the morning to 8 at night. Today, in about 30 minutes I’ll have to go to rehearsals and then get made up for the reality side of the show. That part’s fun. It’s not like other reality shows where you’re sitting in a booth going, ‘So and so said this horrible thing about now and now I’m gonna take her down!’ Today we’re doing impressions of the coaches. I think they want me to put on a ballcap and pretend to be Ceelo. Sure, why not?”

For more, see the story in Monday’s paper. Robichaud’s next time on the tube should come on Monday night’s episode of “The Voice,” starting at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
