Ross and Martin appointed to U.S. Senate education task force

UNC President Tom Ross and N.C. A&T State University Chancellor Harold Martin will serve on a U.S. Senate task force reviewing higher education regulations and reporting requirements.

U.S. Sen. Richard Burr, a North Carolina Republican, is a member of the Senate education committee, and his office announced the appointments.

“The tidal wave of regulations and reporting requirements faced by colleges and universities today is stifling innovation and worse, raising college tuition price tags as schools pass on these compliance costs to students,” Burr said in a statement.

“This task force will assemble experts and stakeholders to help examine regulations and reduce the unnecessary burdens on institutions of higher education.”
