Recap: California vs. Southern Utah

Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyrone Wallace scored 15 points to lead the 10 different Golden Bears who contributed in the scoring column as California completed a 75-47 rout of the Southern Utah Thunderbirds in non-conference action at Haas Pavilion.

Richard Solomon chipped in 14 points and blocked three shots for the Golden Bears (4-0). David Kravish posted nine points and eight rebounds to help California remain unbeaten through four games.

A.J. Hess paced the Thunderbirds (1-2) with 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor.

The Golden Bears scored 14 unanswered points to open the contest and never looked back. California took a 39-20 lead into the intermission after it converted 44.8 percent of its field goal tries in the first half. The Thunderbirds were limited to 6-of-27 shooting from the floor in the opening stanza.

Southern Utah improved after the break, but still converted only 35.5 percent of its field goal tries in the second half. The hosts extended their lead by converting 13-of-16 free-throw attempts over the final 20 minutes.

The Golden Bears dominated on the interior as they outscored Southern Utah, 26-6, in the paint and tallied 21 second chance points with the help of 15 offensive rebounds.
