Short remains on top at Champions Q-School

Scottsdale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Wes Short Jr. birdied the final two holes Wednesday to remain atop the leaderboard after two rounds of the Champions Tour Q-School.

Short, who won in Las Vegas in 2005 on the PGA Tour, finished 36 holes at 12- under-par 130 after a second-round 66. He had been one of four co-leaders after the first round.

Bill Glasson and Doug Garwood, who shared the first-round lead, both carded 4- under 67s to dip one shot back at minus-11. Jim Rutledge also shot 67 to end alone in fourth at 10-under-par 132 at TPC Scottsdale's Champions Course.

Scott Dunlap fired a 7-under 64, the low round of the day, to soar into a tie for fifth place at minus-9. He stands alongside P.H. Horgan III (66) and Ben Bates (68). Mike Reid is one stroke back after a second-round 66.

Jeff Freeman, the other first-round co-leader, struggled to a 2-over 73 and dipped into a share of 26th place at 5-under-par 137.
