Two charged with possession in Raleigh; three drugs cited

— A man was charged with marijuana and hashish possession and a woman was charged with trafficking in opiates in Wednesday night arrests.

Lamont Devon Council, 24, of 2315 Shannon St. in Raleigh was arrested about 10:30 p.m. on two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to sell or distribute it.

In an arrest warrant, city police said Council had 221 (about 7.7 ounces) grams of marijuana and 30.2 grams of hashish, a more potent drug derived from marijuana.

Council was arrested at 2101 Versatile Road, which is the home address of Briana Channel Johnson, 23, whom they charged with two counts of trafficking in opiates and maintaining a 2006 Dodge Charger as a place to keep or sell drugs.

Johnson had, police said in an arrest warrant, between 4 and 14 grams of a combination of oxycodone and acetaminophen.

Council was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail and Johnson in lieu of $150,000.
