UNC's Ball, Wake's Bledsoe on academic All-America team

Four ACC women’s soccer student-athletes were honored for their work in the classroom along with their success on the field.

Florida State’s Kassey Kallman, North Carolina’s Caitlin Ball, Notre Dame’s Elizabeth Tucker and Wake Forest’s Aubrey Bledsoe were selected to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America women’s soccer team.

Tucker and Ball were selected to the first team and Kallman and Bledsoe earned second-team honors.

Also, coming off registering two goals against Arkansas in the NCAA tournament third round, Duke redshirt senior Kim DeCesare was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week on Tuesday.


Saint Augustine’s: The CIAA honored sophomore guard Regime McCombs, freshman guard Anthony Gaskins and coach Rachel Bullard on Tuesday. McCombs was named women’s player of the week, Gaskins was chosen men’s rookie of the week and Bullard was selected women’s coach of the week.


Duke: Senior Nick McCrory was named ACC Male Diver of the Week for the third time this season after he swept the three diving disciplines at the 2013 Janis Hape Dowd Nike Cup in Chapel Hill.
